Better late than never!

Last year I did a post reviewing our whole year and I love going back and reading it so I decided I wanted to do it again. Yes, I realize it is a already halfway through January now, but hey better late than never right?! So here we go!!!!

January: Our apartment officially became our own since my sister Stacee and her son moved out. Here is a picture of my favorite decorations we had in that apartment. It was a perfect location for us because it was right by the freeway and close enough to UVU that I could walk to school.

February: We built our first snow man together. We were pretty proud of how it turned out too. The eyes were made out of little balls that had fallen off the tree, the arms were of course sticks, along with the mouth and the little buttons were rocks. Like I said we are pretty proud of the little guy. :-)

March: My grandma Peterson invited us to come down to Arizona to spend Easter with her and all of my family who lives there. Basically my whole mom's side of the family lives over there and almost everyone came to do the annual Easter egg hunt. It was really fun seeing all of my cousins again and having most of them meet Scott for the first time. We stayed with my grandma and this picture is of a huge teddy bear she has by her front door. For every holiday she has an outfit she dresses this bear up as and I love it! It is something that I will always remember my grandma having.

April: This month was super busy for us, but especially for Scott. Have I mentioned how hard of a worker this kid is? He was going to school from 6:30am till 3:30pm and then went strait to work. He was at work Monday through Thursday till 11:30 and then on Fridays he didn't get off till 1:30. Needless to say our weekends mostly consisted of him looking like this...

May: We finally went on our "official" honeymoon. Since we didn't have time to go on a big honeymoon when we got married because of school we decided once we had a break from school in May we were going to go on a cruise. We went to the Western Caribbean and had a blast! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the cruise. I really wish I had taken more, but we were having such a fun time that I forgot to take a lot of picture.

June: We used to live next to a family fun center and had a whole bunch of token coupons. We played so many arcade games throughout the whole summer, but this month we kept on winning all of the Jackpots! We saved up our tickets just to see how many we could get and eventually got over 11,000 tickets! We had no idea what to get and actually had a hard time picking out our prizes. We loved the lava laps and set them up in our apartment, but since we moved I haven't found a place to put them... Maybe I will soon.

July: My grandma McConnell turned 90 this year!!! For her birthday everyone on my dad's side of the family got together to celebrate her birthday. It was so much fun seeing everyone and being able to celebrate with her. She has lost a lot of hearing and vision, but is still one of the sweetest ladies I know! Every time I call her she always ends the conversation with by telling me how much she loves me and is praying for us. I sure do love my grandma and am so thankful for her.

August: Scott graduated from his dental lab program! Now he is just finishing up getting his Bachelors Degree from BYU and should be done by August of 2014. I am so proud of him and all of the hard work he does for our family. It was not easy for him to go to this school because he had to get up early to go and didn't get off till 3:30, but it was worth it because now he is doing something he loves. Making teeth!

September: This month we went to almost all of the BYU football games and one game in particular we will never forget and it wasn't because of the game. The weather was crazy that day! We were waiting for the game to start when all of a sudden this HUGE dark cloud came rolling it. The rain and wind were more than powerful! Look at all of the tree branches that had fallen down during the storm. This month we also moved to Provo and have loved living her a lot more than the last place we lived. We live in a basement apartment of a home and it is perfect for us. We also love our ward! We are in a married student ward with a lot of BYU students and even knew a couple of people right when we moved it. It's been great!

October: We celebrated our first anniversary by going to a ropes course in Park City at the Olympic Park where they held some of the athletic events when they had the Olympics here in Utah. We saw some bobsleds and Scott was so excited that he had to sit in one and we took a picture of it. Doesn't he just look so excited and like a kid on Christmas? I LOVE IT! We had a great time and it couldn't think of a better way we could have spent our anniversary. It was awesome being at a place where Olympic athletic train and we even were able to see some of the skiers practice. It was awesome!

November: For one of my classes I had to go to 3 different types of Bureau of Land Management agencies and for my last one I decided I wanted to go to the Golden Spike National Historic Site. I was in awe the whole time! I have always wanted to go see the trains so actually seeing them in person made me super happy. It was great having Scott and his sister come with me too. I think Laurie (Scott's sister) was just excited as me to go see them and poor Scott is just an incredible husband and came with me. I sure do love my man!

December: Sadly I was sick during both of our birthdays so we weren't able to celebrate hardly at all this year, but we did open presents so that was fun. We also went to Vegas again this year for Christmas and I wasn't sick so it was a blast to actually be able to enjoy it unlike last year. However, of course I forgot to take pictures for all of those celebrations. Lucky for us we celebrated New Years with Laurie and Trevor by getting sushi and seeing a comedy show and Laurie took this cute picture of us. We had a blast being able to celebrate with them.

Well that was our year in a nutshell. Unfortunately we weren't able to do more because of how busy Scott was with school and work! I also was going to school, but I wasn't nearly as busy as he was. This year things should be a lot smoother and we should be able to do a lot more since Scott only has 15 online credits left and has a set job at a dental lab! More about that later, but we are really excited for the opportunities this year has for us. Bring on 2014, these Hansen's are ready for you!
