Exactly 1 Year Ago Part 3

Okay before you read this make sure to read Part 1 and Part 2. Here is the final post of our engagement enjoy!

Last I wrote about how Sarah was taking me to her old apartment to pick up something she left there, which just so happen to be the place Scott and I meet...

As we went inside I saw two yellow happy birthday ballons on the table and wondered who birthday it was until one of the girls who lived there looked at me and said I think those are for you. My heart stopped and then started to feel like pounding out of my body as I walked over to the table to find an envelope with a number one on it. I then got so made because of course when I was most upset at him it had to be the time when he was proposing to me! I couldn't believe it and just was in shock! He told me his was at work that little tricky liar was mainly what I was thinking at the moment and I just couldn't speak! I got all giddy as most girls I think do and was actually mad that he was proposing then because of how upset I was. Lame I know, but it is the honest truth.  No matter how I was feeling though off we went on a scavenger hunt I would never forget.

Scott and I had just been talking about our first date a few days earlier and how much fun that was. We went to Sammy's which is this amazing place in Provo where they make the best shakes I have ever had in my life! They put ice cream and a piece of actual pie or a cupcake or cheesecake with real fruit in it! For instance if you order something like a pumpkin pie shake they actually put in a slice of pumpkin pie in your shake! Amazing? YES! Well on our first date I think I ordered the carrot cupcake shake or something like that I don't even remember now exactly what I got. Anyways so I ordered and was so confused as to how my shake and Sarah's was going to be paid because Sarah wasn't grabbing grabbing her wallet. The lady at the register at first of course was waiting for us to pay until Sarah mentioned if she had an envelope. The lady got really excited and handed me my second envelope. Inside was Scott's credit card! What the heck?! Who gives their credit card to a complete stranger! He had actually just given it to her about 10-15 minutes before we got there so it wasn't as big of a risk! I paid with that and put his credit card in my pocket so I wouldn't lose it.
Side story for you all to understand why he put before he canceled it this time. We meet and started dating each other all within 24 hours! Well a week after that we went out to dinner and Scott left his credit card at the register on accident. The person who was working it gave it to me so I thought it would be funny to see how long until Scott realized it was missing. After dinner went to a friends birthday party and I totally forgot it was in my pocket until after he dropped me off. I figured I could just give it to him once I got home and it wouldn't be a big deal. Well it turned out to be because while I was gone Scott needed to use it and called everyone except for me to try to find it. I called him once I got home and he didn't answer so I sent him a text asking him if he was missing anything. He texted me back saying please tell me you don't have my credit card... Well that poor stressed out man had just called to cancel it (that would be why he didn't answer). I felt awful and he was going to mexico the next week and had to go without a credit card. It was a mess!

Anyways, back to the proposal story. On our two month anniversary we went to a place called Color Me Mine. It is a place where you can pick out something to paint and then after you are finished painting it you give it to them to fire blast and pick it up a few days after. Remember how we had just done that? Well he sent me there to go pick up the plate and inside the bag with the plate was envelope number three. I looked at the plate and didn't see anything different so I was confused. Sarah told me to look at the front of the plate again and didn't think anything of it because the handwriting looked like my cursive. She laughed and told me to look closer at it and then the lightbulb went off! On the front of the plate was the date!!! Here is the picture of the plate:
As soon as I read the clue I knew exactly where we were supposed to go because on our second date we went to a look out point right by the "Y" mountain in Provo. Scott told me how he never gets cold and since I was freezing he gave it to me to wear and I loved it! He had planned out this very cute date and we danced, but then he started to get so cold that he was shaking. All I could do was laugh because he had just told me how he never gets cold and he was being so stubborn about not taking his jacket back.

For some reason as we were driving over there I just had this feel that he was going to propose there. I just knew he was going to and the more I thought about it the more nervous I got. I had so many emotions in me while we were driving. I was still upset about how he waited so long to propose (lame I know) I was still in shock and I was extremely excited all at the same time!

As soon as we pulled up we saw a table set up with a chair and some weird blanket and tool box on top of the table. I seemed to be confused a lot during this whole adventure because yet again I found myself confused looking at this random pile of stuff until I found this: Scott's handwriting is hard to read so basically it says to put the DVD in his laptop (which was wrapped in the blanket) and to put the blanket over me and the computer so I could see the screen better. Yup I knew he was going to propose there and was kind of scared he was going to scare me haha. Well I watched the movie and it was adorable! He got a ton of pictures from while we were dating and made a slideshow with them with the song "Marry Me" by Train. At the very end the last picture said "For your last clue turn around"! I did and there was my amazing man just standing there. I saw him and then covered my eyes again. I couldn't believe it was actually happening. I opened them again went over and gave him a huge hug. Then the big down on one knee, ring box open, ring inside, and the marry me question finally came. I said no of course since I was so made and told him to do all of it again on a different day. I'm just kidding I said yes and it was wonderful! Here are some more pictures of during that time.
Scott coming down from his hiding place.
Me under the blanket.
Right after he proposed!
I got the ring! He actually had it custom made because I had always said how I want a ring just like my CTR right that I used to wear all the time. This ring in exactly like it except for the pretty diamond  which I love more than the CTR anyways. This ring means so much more to me since Scott is the one who designed it and put so much work into it! I just love him so much!

After that we went out to dinner, he got me beautiful sunflowers, and went back to his apartment to realize his backpack with his laptop and the dvd weren't there. We got back in the car and Scott zoomed up the mountain, but his backpack was no where to be found! It was freezing and dark outside and the wind was blowing like crazy! I couldn't handle the cold anymore so I got back into the car and just prayed that someone found it and would call. Right after I said the prayer Scott came to the car and told me someone just called him saying they had his backpack! It was a miracle! Turns out it was a cute old couple who were very nice! We told them how we just got engaged and they were so happy for us and got the backpack back. We started to drive away and then stopped to say a little prayer. Scott said it and that was the point where I started to cry! It hit right during that simple prayer of us saying thank you to our Heavenly Father that we were engaged and that from then on we were a true team starting our journey together!

That would be our VERY detailed proposal story from start to finish! If you have read all three of these post you are awesome and such a trooper! My main reason for writing it in such detail is so that way I had it written down for our family to remember and hopefully one day for our children to read. I hope you enjoyed it as well though.
